Sliced Tree with Decorative Greenery is a sculptural opportunity to display greenery and feel a fresh and unconventional connection to nature. The shape of this installation is that of a tree, however, as the name implies, it is created from slices around the center. This abstraction creates a sense of what nature is but in a fractured and fabricated way. It shows that familiar things can be altered drastically yet keep the essence and feel of the original. Taking the natural form of a tree and reinventing it using the same base materials offers a whole new way of representing familiar forms. Abstraction mimics the essence of the object but distorts it just enough that it changes a function and offers a new perspective.
